If there’s one thing I can’t stand as a human being and business man is lying.  People who BS others into buying their services by selling them a bag of crap really irritates me to the core.

I was on a phone call recently with a so called SEO company who told a client that they could get them more & better SEO results because they host thousands of web sites with one particular web host and Google loves that.  This is 100% nonsense.

Here are some other famous Slimy SEO types you’ll want to run away from:

The Over Delivery Guy.
- Yup, we can get you number one rankings organically within 24 business hours.
** It’s not going to happen people. Google ranks when Google wants to rank, not when your SEO guy tells it to.

The Shady, Whatever It Takes Guy, I want to sell you an SEO package guy.
- Yah sure, hiding text on your web site will be a great way to get Google rankings quickly!
** If any SEO strategy even sounds the least bit questionable, Google doesn’t care for it.  Google spends MILLIONS paying really smart people (smarter then your SEO guy) to prevent spamming and maniuplation.

The Overly Complicated Algorithm Technician Guy.
- We’re just going to setup a complex string of algeabraic formulas, do some trigonometry, use a hybrid ALT tag system, interlink your web site with NASA’s jet propulsion laboratory and then access the global meta tag department for authentication. According to my exact calculations, You’ll be number one in Google in about 28 minutes and your competitors will be subject to an uncomfortable deep alien probe.
** Over explaining the process with a bunch of technical nonsense never really endears clients to you.

As with everything, if it sounds to good to be true folks, it is.  SEO is a bit of an art-form:  It’s 1 part writer, 1 part technician, 1 part passion and 1 part luck. The most important thing about great SEO is caring about your clients and being passionate about helping them thrive, NOT selling them a bag of goods. Look out for your clients, do the right thing and strive for online domination.
